The Struggles of Clay…

I like the way clay looks when you are done with it, but before that it is a living nightmare. We are doing a clay project in art right now and we started this project around the middle of October. Sadly this is also our exam. The project is a 3D initial about 9 inches tall and 4 inches thick. It takes forever to roll out all of the sides and cut them out. Then you have to take cold, wet, runny clay called slip to stick the pieces together. The hardest part is to make sure that your sides will be straight when you stand it up. I finished my construction part about 2 weeks ago and mine was not straight… It was leaning forward and I had to fix it. Then we have to have all of these different criteria’s and it is difficult to fit it all on one letter. I had a theme in mind and I had it all drawn out, then I ask her if it had texture and it doesn’t… I have no clue how to finish this in time and it is very stressful. I have two days to do what I need to do in order for it to dry over the break.
